Woodworker

My passion for carving birds and flowers took a long time to discover and developed. I spent my working career as a pharmacist, first in the corporate world and then as a self employed drug store owner. I always attacked my career with passion and an ever constant desire for excellence and achievement, but something was missing.

In 1985 I was given a bonsai tree for Christmas and for many years that art form seemed to fill the void.  When I retired I had 150 trees in my collection, and the fun had dissipated. I started searching for another creative endeavor.  I joined the Cape Fear Woodcarvers club and quickly found that this could fill the void and quickly became totally enthralled . After a few years I entered some of my creations in a show and competition in Charlotte and came home with 5 ribbons!  I was hooked for sure. From that day forward I have strived to improve my craft and have annually brought home many ribbons. I love showing my creations.
