Melanie Heinrich - Interdisciplinary Artist
I have been working as a Fine Artist since 1974 and have two masters degrees. I was the head of a university photography department for several years and retired to make art.
During the process of earning my MFA I decided to branch out into three-dimensional art. Today I refer to myself as an interdisciplinary artist which includes photography, painting and fine crafts. I work with many different mediums and with many different organic materials such as stone, wood, metal, glass and more.
Working with granite I hand craft unique shapes used as trivets for cheese and butter when chilled, candles, jewelry, cookies and even as a hot plate. These exotic textured materials add stunning beauty to any table.
