Port City Pottery & Fine Crafts, located in the historic Cotton Exchange in downtown Wilmington, brings a ‘new dimension’ to the local art scene. This is the first gallery in Wilmington dedicated exclusively to handmade, one-of-a-kind, 3-dimensional art and crafts. Jury-selected coastal North Carolina artisans present decorative and functional works in clay, fiber wall hangings, decorative gourds, wearable fiber art, jewelry, mixed media, sculpture, pine needle baskets, and wood.

Four professional women potters collaborated to bring together a community of kindred spirits, familiar to the patrons of local festivals, museums and art fairs, who are dedicated to the finest expression of heart and hand through the many disciplines of craft. Mastery of one’s craft is the common goal and bond of this diverse group of artists - some native to the area, some who found their way to North Carolina’s coast.

"Handmade objects, whether held, worn or displayed, enrich our lives by connecting us to our humanity, to our creativity and to our history". It is evident when you enter Port City Pottery & Fine Crafts that all of the Gallery members are pursuing the work they love.
